Room 330, Thursday Evening

It had been... well, definitely some kind of week. The very distracted sort of week, in fact, where Evan had alternated between trying to study and trying to work off some of that excess energy that he had all pent up since Monday. He'd even called in on what would have been his first day of work, explaining to his new boss that there was no way he was going to be able to do his job in the middle of all of this pollen.

Calling in pollenated was completely legitimate around here, right?

This evening, he was smack-dab in the middle of 'working it off' mode. His books were all piled up on the other side of the room and he'd cleared a space in the middle of the floor, where he was doing push-ups. Lots and lots and lots of push-ups. Kinda pasty shirtless push-ups. Because, really, what else was there for it?

He was desperately hoping this whole thing would wear off before the visitors could begin arriving to the island tomorrow.

You'd better believe she definitely would!

...Once he did something that Sholeh didn't think was appropriate. Tongue was not such a thing, however. Tongue seemed only right and natural and good on him for thinking of it!

His tongue slid between her lips and she opened her mouth a little wider to accommodate him. Her finger stroked his cheek and then she slipped him her tongue, too.

It really should be noted that Evan hadn't done much kissing, except for shy pecks on Sholeh's cheek, in his whole life. And now he was kissing. With tongue. While shirtless. On his floor.

The Evan of last week would probably never have believed it. He hardly did himself, now. But it was good. It was really good, even if neither of them were particularly good at it, and he found himself closing his eyes and getting lost in it a little bit.

Up until Ozzy came up and started sniffing at their hair. That part was a tiny bit distracting.

And then Evan was trying very hard to not crack up.

It was definitely a good reminder that they probably shouldn't be on the floor and making out, especially while Evan was topless. She was having trouble coming up with reasons why right now, but she was fairly certain there were some.

Though Evan's very obvious struggle not to laugh was making her huffy. "This isn't funny!" she said, finding it rather difficult to bury her face in her hands when they were partially tucked under him. "It's embarrassing!"

"It's... it's a little silly," Evan replied, smiling up at her brightly. "I'm not going to tell anybody what happened, though. And... I mean... you're not embarrassed to be kissing me, are you?"

"Yes!" Sholeh said, before realizing how that likely sounded. "I mean, no, not like that. Not the way you're thinking."

It wasn't possible for her to blush any brighter, but, by golly, she was giving it the old college try.

"I'm embarrassed by how, umm, wantonly I was kissing you," she admitted. "It was nice. Really nice. I didn't really want to stop. I felt very...sexy."

And that, Evan, was embarrassing.

"Oh..." Evan took a moment to consider that, and then just kind of shrugged his shoulders and smiled up at her again. "Well, up until Ozzy interrupted, what we were doing was pretty sexy. I mean..."

He wasn't sure what he meant, except that apparently being pinned to the floor and kissed silly was amazing.

"It felt great. You felt great. And you shouldn't be embarrassed by that."

"It's just..." She flailed around a bit. "I'm not a sexy person!"

Still laying on top of her boyfriend with kiss-swollen lips notwithstanding, of course.

Evan just raised an eyebrow and licked his lips at that, arms still around her, hands pulling her just a little closer.

"Right now, you are."

Evan reeeeeeally shouldn't do things like that if he wanted her to remain focused on the conversation at hand.

"But I won't be when this ends," she murmured, her eyes locked on his mouth. "And you'll be stuck with plain, old Sholeh who isn't sure if it's okay to hold your hand, rather than the Sholeh who does this..."

And she was leaning down to kiss him again.

And he was leaning up to meet her in that kiss, humming his approval as they picked up where they left off. It was a slightly shorter kiss than before, if only because when they needed to come up for air, Evan gave her a wry little smile.

"I love holding your hand, you know. I'm just never sure if it's okay for me to reach for yours."

Evan-who-does-this was better at talking about this kind of thing, at least.

"I like it when you hold my hand," Sholeh said simply. "I like it when you do a lot of things. It makes me feel...special. Surprised. Like...like there really is someone out there that wants to kiss me and hold my hand and who once..." she ducked her head and blushed. "...Once counted my freckles."

Oh. Oh wow, memories. Kind of hazy ones, but memories all the same, with an Evan who used his codename and who presented the world with a shape not entirely his own.

An Evan who was far, far bolder than he was now.

"I don't think I ever did finish counting," he murmured, a tint of pink to rival her own spreading over his cheeks again. "We both kept getting distracted."

"You were, umm, very distracting," Sholeh murmured. "Especially your mouth."

What with the kissing and the talking and the...many, many other things his mouth had done.

"I kind of wish that that night wasn't so hard to remember," she confessed. "What I do remember is pretty--" erotic "--nice."

"I do remember a lot of what we were doing," Evan noted softly, tracing the contours of her body with his hands, getting to know the curve of her hips. "I really don't think I had any complaints, either."

He swallowed, and then leaned up to kiss her again.

"I remember you were the only person I really wanted to be distracting with."

To Sholeh, her hips were just the part that connected her legs to the rest of her. She'd never given them much more thought than that, save for those times she'd banged one side of the other walking and reading at the same time.

Evan's hands on her hips made her question how she'd taken them for granted for so very long now.

"You remember?" she asked, voice husky now. "Do you think about it often?"

Like, say, this week?

"Sometimes," Evan murmured, "I find it impossible to stop thinking about it."

So, yes.

"There are mornings I wake up, and I'm actually disappointed to find out that I was only dreaming."

"But we agreed that we were not ready for all of that?" It probably would have been better if Sholeh had sounded more certain of that, but right now, she was having a hard time remembering why they'd agreed to that. "No matter how enticing the thought might be."

"We agreed," Evan echoed a little grudgingly. "Especially not on weeks like this one, probably. A lot of what seems like a good idea right now..."

He needed to kiss her again. Just a brief kiss. Please hold, Sholeh.

"... I mean, I want to know it was us and not the island, when we make that decision."

"Does this now feel like you?" Sholeh asked, eyes wide and dark. "I mean, I'm a lot bolder than I would be, but it's not like I haven't thought about doing this before."

Only a brief kiss? Silly Evan. Let Sholeh show you how it was done.

Oh. Oh, that's how kissing was done. It was good to have Sholeh here to show him, otherwise Evan might be a lost cause... Right? Maybe?

"This?" Was he a little short of breath? Yes. Yes, breathing was a little difficult... "Kissing, this?"

Or some other this? Did she just think about kissing? Was there a line in the sand before kissing turned into something else?

"Kissing, that," Sholeh admitted shyly. "Maybe..." Her eyes lowered and her hair fell forward, hints louder than words that perhaps there was 'some other this' thoughts as well.

Really, it was difficult not to think 'some other this' thoughts at the moment. The whole week had been full of them.

"Honestly?" Evan smiled and kissed her forehead. It was there. He could reach. And he hoped it would even get her to look back up again. "The kissing feels a lot like me. Just... me dialed all the way up to ten or something. And... well..."

Yes, that other this was absolutely on his mind.

"Is that ten really so bad?" Sholeh asked. Her eyes had come up again, but had gotten no further than Evan's lips. Her kisses had left them a little puffier than normal and they looked dark and inviting. "I think I could get to like ten."

"Ten is actually really pleasant," Evan admitted, leaning his face down a little, so that his mouth was just a breath away from hers. "So far, I'm enjoying ten, too."

It involved closeness. Evan could get behind that. More than just hand-holding, even!

Sholeh traced a finger down Evan's bare chest, following the length of his sternum. "If this is ten, what's eleven, I wonder?"
